Ask Candid Candice a question about Moo Canada:
How do I get on-line?
The equipment necessary to use the Internet is very basic, but is somewhat
dependent on who gives you Internet access, and on what type of access you
get.
- For basic Internet access, you only need a low-end computer, a PC/XT or
286 will do just fine, with a modem (2400 baud is sufficient). Used
computers of this type can be bought for under $200. If there is a FreeNet in your city, it won't cost you
anything extra to get basic Internet access. Contact them for more
information.
- For full graphical Internet access, one needs a more powerful computer
running Windows or the Mac OS. One would also need to pay for an
Internet Service Provider in order to obtain SLIP or PPP access. The cost of Internet
Service Providers vary widely depending on quantity and quality of service.
