Once upon a time there were hundreds of Gopher sites.  One enterprising 
individual decided that new users to Gopher might be more inclined to 
explore these Gopher sites if they had some idea of the kind of content 
that might be out there.  S/He went to many of these Gopher sites, 
culling interesting material, and created a very popular eclectic 
"best-of" selector list called "GOPHER JEWELS".  

Unfortunately, the original Gopher Jewels list no longer exists on 
Gopher.  I personally miss having this list, so I have created a new 
version of Gopher Jewels, culled from all the public Gopher servers in 
operation during the spring of 2005.  

Please note that I in no way attempted to exercise valuation on any of 
the subject matter.  If there seems to be a lack of certain subjects or 
viewpoints, it is only because they were not found on any of the Gopher 
servers.  Be forewarned that some persons might find some selectors to 
be of a disturbing or thought provoking nature.  I suggest that 
non-adults under the age of 21 NOT use Gopher Jewels 2.
