F-Prot Anti-Virus for DOS (ver 3.16b) free only if for non-business use F-Prot is a modern, DOS virus scanner. It is minimalistic in its use of resources, yet it is very effective in finding and eliminating viruses and macroviruses. Just because DOS is rarely a subject of new virus attacks, doesn't mean that you shouldn't scan for viruses. There may still be some older viruses lurking in forgotten DOS files scattered about the Internet. It is important that you keep the virus and macrovirus definition tables up to date. Updated definition tables can be found on the F-Prot website: http://www.f-prot.com/download/home_user/index.html The update files are "fp-def.zip" for the virus definition tables, and "macrdef2.zip" for the macrovirus tables. Just unzip the definition tables from these archives and replace the old files of the same name currently in the FPROT directory. .
