Well here it is... DESQview/X is -THE- Graphical User Interface for DOS. 
For a picture of the DESQview/X desktop, see the acompanying DVX.GIF 
file.  With DESQview/X, you can graphically multi-window multi-task 
virtually any DOS program. 

DESQview/X was a popular windowing GUI used by Universities and 
laboratories.  DESQview/X is no longer available only because the 
company (which also made QEMM and Manifest) was bought out by a giant 
competetor, and then promptly shut-down.  

DESQview/X is backwards compatible with the older text-based DESQview.  
Because DESQview/X was designed to support the X-Windows standard, it 
can interface with modern software such as Macintosh OSX and Linux!  
DESQview/X is intended to work with QEMM, and uses surprisingly minimal 
resources considering the features it offers.  4DOS is DESQview aware.
