This message area covers remote operations with ham radio.

While ham radio was originally an RF only hobby, many hams nowadays are
getting into situations (many through no fault of their own), where they
must live in areas that RESTRICT or PROHIBIT RF gear, antennas, etc.

To "compensate" for this, some ham radio operators have set up "remote
operations"...where you can set up an account with that individual
(some are free, but some charge a hefty fee for usage), and work the
radio bands (mainly HF), as if you had an RF setup in your shack. The
remote setup may be in a different part of the country than you are,
but at least, it allows hams who normally can't experience the thrill
of RF operations (including contesting), the chance to do so.

Note that I am working on preparing batchfiles for these message areas,
and it may take some time to get these posts going.

Also, since I consider messages over 30 days old to be out of date on
my BBS, these messages are deleted after that point, and reposted once
a month, with new information, when required.
