Subj : Classes And Exams To : All From : Daryl Stout Date : Sat May 28 2016 09:30 pm Ham Radio License exams are much different than they were years ago. Years ago, the FCC usually came to a major city (usually the state capitol), maybe a max of 3 or 4 times a year), and you only got one shot at the exam. Today, there are usually exams in an area at least once a month. One can find classes and exams by going to www.arrl.org -- and click on the link for either Classes or Exams...entering the desired criteria, and clicking on search. In the central Arkansas area, there's an exam somewhere in Pulaski, Saline, Faulkner, or Lonoke Counties, at least once a month. Some sessions take walk-ins only, some take pre-registrations only, and some permit both. It's best to check with the session contact person in advance to be sure. It's more difficult to find clubs with classes, but there are plenty of other study options available. For details, go to: http://www.wx1der.com/hamradio.htm#study For 10 study options. Some are free, and some charge a fee. Daryl, WX1DER --- þ Synchronet þ The Thunderbolt BBS - Little Rock, AR - wx1der.dyndns.org .
