D-Star and D-Rats are two popular digital modes that ham radio operators of
Technician Class or higher amateur radio license can use. One can have a setup
as simple as a DV Dongle that plugs into the computers USB port, and
appropriate software...or a full fledged D-Star Radio.

A list of selected D-Star and D-Rats nets can be obtained by sending an email
to yours truly at wx1der at gmail dot com -- I started those lists because much
of the net information at www.dstarinfo.com was outdated. While Ed, WA4YIH,
maintains the D-Star website, it isn't his fault that systems haven't provided
updated net information. For those files noted, the Adobe Acrobat Reader is
required.

The main thing I like about D-Star and D-Rats, is that you can NOT hide on
D-Star or D-Rats. Your callsign is transmitted automatically...whether you
"quick key" or make a voice transmission...or if you type a message. The same
holds true if your radio is "beaconing".

There are D-Star repeaters and reflectors, and D-Rats ratflectors.

I'm usually on several D-Star Nets during the week, including:

1) Southeast US D-Star Weather Net, Sunday, 9pm Eastern, Reflector 2A
2) El Paso D-Star Net, Monday, 7:15pm Mountain Time, Reflector 55A
3) Arklatex D-Star Net, Tuesday, 7:30pm Central, Reflector 48B
4) C.E.R.T. D-Star Net, Thursday, 8:30pm Central, Reflector 58A
5) New Mexico D-Star Net, Thursday, 9pm Central, Reflector 55A
6) Memphis D-Star/D-Rats Net, Friday, 8pm Mountain, Reflector 58A
7) Saturday Night D-Star Net, Saturday, 7pm Pacific, Reflector 29A

I'm Net Control (primary or backup) for nets 1, 3, 4, and 5.
