If the person had proper training i see no issue.

you know someone could kill you with a household object quite easily and painfully as well.  why are you uncomfortable about guns?

i worked in a foundry and i still have a good swing with a hammer. i could knock someone's block off before they knew it.

I could feel uncomfortable around people that DO have guns but legally are barred from having guns.
