Subj : Callsign Updates To : All From : Daryl Stout Date : Fri Jan 25 2019 05:30 pm According to FoxNews on Jan. 25, 2019, there has been an agreement to end the government shut down (at least for now). However, we may be right back at square one on Feb. 15, 2019, three weeks from now, with another "government shutdown". Now that the shutdown is over (at least for now), there is a huge amount of a backlog of data to get into the FCC ULS, from the various VEC's. I just hope the FCC's computers don't crash with all the influx of exam session data!! *** If you, as an amateur radio operator do NOT know when your ham radio license is to expire, YOU NEED TO STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING, AND FIND OUT NOW!! If your license lapsed (was expired more than 2 years from Dec. 22, 2018 until now), you are going to have to "start over"...as you have LOST your license and callsign...and will have to, AT MINIMUM, take the Technician Class exam. You will get a new callsign about 1 to 2 weeks AFTER the exam session... unless another government shutdown has taken hold. Then, you will have to WAIT EVEN LONGER to get back on the air. Plus, if you had a "highly sought after callsign", it's likely that someone else will have snatched it up through the Vanity Callsign system, and you will NOT be able to get it back. In short, you have no one to blame but yourself, for not keeping track of when your ham radio license expired or lapsed. *** Amateur Radio Operators, prospective and current, are asked to be patient, due to the delay in license processing. I hope to have a "fresh post" sometime on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019. For now, for reference purposes, these are the latest callsigns that were issued before the FCC shut down, as of the date noted below. *** Amateur Radio Callsign Update from the FCC as of Jan. 2, 2019. These are in "sequential" format, and do not necessarily include "vanity callsigns". Data is from the HamData.Com website at www.hamdata.com/fccinfo.html -- so, check that, in case typographical errors are in this message. In some regions, all the sequential callsigns have been issued, so other callsign groups are being noted as well. The first 2 entries for regions 0 through 9 are for Technician or General class licensees (starting with a K), and then for Amateur Extra Class licensees (starting with an A). The regions are noted as per Appendix 2, in Part 97 of the FCC Rules. Lastly, eventually, the FCC will no longer accept Social Security Numbers on an NCVEC Form 605 -- one will have to obtain an FRN from the FCC CORES website PRIOR to going to a license exam session...or they will NOT be able to take the license exam. *** Region 0: Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota KE0UBJ AE0EV KI0TL *** Region 1: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont KC1KTD AC1GQ KE1MT *** Region 2: New Jersey and New York KD2RDV AC2YL *** Region 3: Delaware, District Of Columbia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania KC3MRH AC3DV KF3EU *** Region 4: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia KN4RLT AK4ZZ KX4PC *** Region 5: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas KI5CTV AG5SO KM5ZL *** Region 6: California KM6YVN AJ6HL KR6GI *** Region 7: Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming KJ7CZY AG7RU KK7ZO *** Region 8: Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia KE8LEH AD8CP KI8KX *** Region 9: Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin KD9MFW AC9UG KG9RJ *** Hawaii WH6FZR AH6VQ Alaska KL4TO AL3T AL7RY WL7CYD Northern Marianas KH0ZX WH0ACE Guam NH2LP AH2EH American Samoa KH8E AH8Z WH8ABM Virgin Islands NP2RK KP2CY Puerto Rico WP4QYA WP4HD --- SBBSecho 3.06-Win32 * Origin: RadioWxNet: The Thunderbolt BBS tbolt.synchro.net (801:1/2) þ Synchronet þ Temple of Doom BBS - tod.eothnet.com .
