It does make sense, and in Mystic (and I assume other BBSes too), when you 
press R for reply, the first option you get presented with is press ENTER to 
reply in the current base, or press B to choose a new base. It's all relative 
to the client, not the hub however what you suggest is absolutely possible 
using this above method, replying to a message but into a different message 
base.
