The answers to today's Strands, game #647, are PEACE LITERATURE MEDICINE

I didnt use any hints, but I was sorely tempted to do so, as these 
intellectual Strands games test my limits. 

The theme was obvious at least, so I went straight to the most obvious, and 
currently contentious, award  PEACE. Something which now apparently has a 
rival in the Fifa World Peace Prize. 

LITERATURE was next and after that I looked for science before getting three 
science-based areas. I needed to get them all before seeing the spangram

Strands is the NYT's not-so-new-any-more word game, following Wordle and

desktop or mobile.
