Could you dual boot?  While I personally don't like opensuse I run it on my mediacentre (long story I don't feel like going into right now) and it installed great and even partitioned my HDD so I can boot windows again if I want / need to.

I've been using "4k Video Downloader" for many many years and while it required a license, it was cheap and I have not had to update said license in years while always getting the new version.

Works great with Youtube anyway as I download crap for viewing offline when I'm in the woods.
