Thanks to other suggestions, I switched the description to use the tic
description instead of file_id.diz.  That seems to have fixed it.  The file
_id.diz files are generally about 25-50 lines long...  They have ANSI codes
and high ASCII characters.  I didn't check the log for error messages after
this fixed it.
