I do that with several nightly processes and hourly processes, such as running the "subnet-recidive" fail2ban filter which is hourly and my two backup processes using rsync.net (rsync) and AWS S3 (s3cmd) which are nightly. Running anything system-level as "sudo" can be problematic in my experience. Then again, in BSD, there is no "sudo" unless you add it to the system.
