I am not a Ham user but the community we live in issued us walkie-talkies that have a 
good range which we are supposed to use in case of emergencies.  Every Wednesday, 
they do a roll call to do a test of each one.

We do have 1 or 2 Ham operators in our community.  I wish I could get them on my 
HobbyNet, but so far no luck.
