I've been following this a bit and wanted to mention that I use the Opera
browser, which in the background is based on (at times) Chrome or Mozilla
but with a much nicer to use (IMHO) front end.

It also blocks Ads and Trackers and can sync multiple devices - I use it on
my Phone and my Tablet and my Laptop - and it has a basic VPN built in if
you choose to turn it on. Latest versions have some version of AI (Aria?)
added but I don't generally use those.

My phone says it's blocked 24,452 Ads and 51,648 Trackers.. (Android)

I've used Opera for decades, possibly since Windows 3.1.. Definitely Win 95.
