I don't remember if I've tried Kodi, but I've always thought the Plex client user interface feels fairly polished and works well, at least compared to others I've tried (such as Emby).  Not too long ago though, they re-arranged the Roku Plex app UI a bit, which was a bit jarring, but not too bad once you get used to it.  I don't think that change was necessary though, as I thought it was fine before.
