A SOLAR SAIL IS ORBITING EARTH: NASA's ACS3 solar sail was unfurled in Earth 
orbit last week, and it is putting on quite a show. Observers have photographed

it flashing as brightly as Vega, the 5th-brightest star in the night sky. NASA 
is still learning to guide this "sailboat for photons," but local flybys are
