That's why I like my x16-commander.

It's like C64 but without C64 and with all new possibilities to discover and
way faster. Like 8-Bit Amiga 500 or sth.

If I want C64 experience I have C64-MAXI and Vice on PC. I still consider Ultimate so I could have carts but yeah.. there are options for C64 compatible setup that are countless.

Now what's above it sometimes requires forgetting about the past.

x16 is hard bet that D.Murray and K.Williams did, equal number of fans and enemies of the project, but if you want 8-bit on steroids I really like x16 very much!
