Folks - 

Thought I'd share this tidbit in a thread I saw on usenet.

A telnet server with an interactive world map:

telnet mapscii.me

They use map data from openstreetmap. The OP and respondents to the thread said you have to use real telnet to get in there. Supposedly it's not pure ascii because they use colors and braille unicode. You can move around using vi keys. It's dope enjoy.
