Operating System permissions being tight are the opposite of dumbing down the system. They are a safety meassure in multiuser systems to protect groups of users from other users. If you want to play around with your operating system you just get an administrative account in it. If you don't have an administrative account in in then the system is working as intended if you can't screw around. For all the trash that can be talked about modern Linux implementations, you decided to trash a feature that works very well. I am honestly confused. -- gopher://gopher.richardfalken.com/1/richardfalken --- SBBSecho 3.29-Linux * Origin: Palantir * palantirbbs.ddns.net * Pensacola, FL * (21:2/138) .
