Yeah, I remember playing MSFS 4.0 on my 12mhz 286 PC with a Herculese monochrome monitor.. I remember it ran well enough to be playable. I was excited when MSFS 5.0 came out, since it was a big leap in graphics. By that time, I had a 386SX-16 and VGA graphics, but a 386SX-16 was not fast enough to make it enjoyable.. Its frame rate was like a slide show on that setup. Same with Doom, unless I shrunk the window size in Doom down to as small as it would go. Things got a lot better for gaming when I got my 386DX-40.
