Subj : you can stop drivin' nails in your coffin To : Nick Boel From : Maurice Kinal Date : Fri Feb 07 2025 21:26:12 Hey Nick! > Ah, then I should probably start to expect it in the next day or two. Probably. So far binutils-2.44 appears to be working. :::knock on wood::: The current plan is to update the fidonet node - Little Mikey's Brain - onto an mSATA disk and keep the SSD (sata) as the backup, storage, and /home partition. I just started about a half an hour ago. Then I plan to upgrade the MMC disk on the EuroPoint and see which one is better, not that I plan to replicate the same(s) in the future. nvme disks are the way to go these days, as well as usb 3.whatever in order to take advantage of usb3 monitors, which run on spit which makes them attactive. I have a 15" 1080p, aka 2K, that steals about 8W from the usb3 connection. Unfortunately the only system I had that was up-to-speed usb3-wise died due to a too close for comfort lightening strike. :::sigh::: MK>> All I can say for sure at this point in time is that at least MK>> 1:153/7001.53423 works as this reply is evidence of. :-) > Good news! However, that's one heck of a large point number. It was recycled from a 20 year experiment. Something to do with 16-bit hex output, although looking at it now I can't recall why 53423 had any meaning to me, given D0AF big endian or AFD0 in little endian. > Do you have that written down next to your keyboard so you don't forget it? ;) See above. I used to pick ones that are easy to remember given it's output in hex, such as FACE. Converting to binary for msg headers one is forced to use little endian. Personally I think binary data should be excluded, especially in headers. Life is good, Maurice o- o- -o o- /) /) (\ /) ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ .... Gif ðu hwæt on druncen misdo, ne wit ðu hit ðam ealoþe.
