Add carrots and peas and saute for 2 minutes. Lower heat; add ginger, turmeric, and salt, and stir for a few minutes. Add water and cover. Cook on low for 5 minutes until water is almost gone. Uncover and keep stirring until all liquid is absorbed. Sprinkle with black pepper.
