AA>"The corporation can permanently stop door-to-door home deliveries, shifting >se addresses to community mailboxes over several years. They did that to me close to 20 years ago, and a lot of other people obviously. Some of them have to drive 10 miles to get their mail. I'm lucky since the box for here is only about a mile distant so I can easily jog or bicycle out to check for mail. In recent years I've been thinking Canada Post should concentrate more on having a reliable courier service at reasonable prices and maybe cut back on regular mail deliveries to 3 days a week or something. There is so little reliance on regular mail these days I figure 3 days a week wouldn't hurt too many people that much.. As far as actual addressed mail goes, I probably only get about one letter every 3 weeks or so most of the time. That goes up a bit at Tax time since a lot of places still mail out hard copies of Tax documents, plus I do my taxes on paper, not online.. But of course the Canada Post union (CUPW) not only doesn't want to see any layoffs, they actually want them to hire More people in a business losing around $3 Million a day... --- * SLMR Rob * Oops...
