That's good..  Just make sure to refer to Power as Hydro and call
soft drinks Pop instead of Soda..   B)

That makes me think back to a couple of years when I spent 4 to 6
months in Florida over the winter. I learned to pick up the slight
Southern accent they use there so people you meet briefly in a store
or something would treat you like a local instead of a tourist.  B)

Funny, I also met a Sheriff on one trip when the lady with me
passed out and ended up in hospital for a few hours due to
dehydration from the motorcycle trip down.. too many hours on the
road in 100+f temperatures the day before.. We got an ambulance
ride to the hospital about 15 miles away but when they later asked
how we were getting back to our place, I said we'd probably have
to call a taxi or something.. and was informed there were no taxis
or any public transit between here and there.. so the nurse called
the Sheriff's office and they had a deputy drive us back..

Nice of them.. I can still imagine them making fun of the
'damned tourists' when that call came in..

The funny part of this (where I started) was, a couple of days
later in a convenience store parking lot I ran into that same
Deputy off duty and he was so drunk he could barely walk, but
he was really friendly, like I was a long lost friend..   B)
