When I got my current (now 6+ years old LG K9 cell phone) I pretty much right away installed the Opera Browser App on it, which I do on all my electronics. I've used it since the 1990's. (Maybe late 80's) It shares the same Browser engine as Chrome (at earlier times Firefox) but with more security and a better Front End to control things. I have Opera set up to use a search engine other than Google, you can choose from many or pick your own and, glancing at the phone, it has blocked 26,803 Ads and 68,474 trackers since I started using it. I get complaints from some sites because they can't glean any personal information on me through those and other built in protections. (A basic VPN is available for free as well if you choose to use it.) EV>At least I am back here enjoying Mike's CCO BBS. Always good.. B) I'm grateful for the convenience of his service via eMail, which he offered me whan I lost my BBS feed near here and back when getting BBS access with via eMail wa a 'thing'.. The only minor hassle being the built in identifiers show me as being from Kentucky rather than from Ontario, Canada.. If it bugged me enough it would be easy enough to put that in my Tag Line, but then I'd lose the clever/funny ones I like to use.
