I'm curious where you get your weather reports in that format? AA>It was -29.4C at 8a this morning, and dropping. The sun rises >at about 7:30a, and didn't make much difference on the >situation. That's cold.. I've been wondering if a few nights here it didn't get a lot colder than the weather app said it would. I've seen the same temperature given on 2 nights, and one night the water pails in the kitchen was filled with ice the next morning and yet the next night that didn't happen. RM> I'm surprised that you often get slightly colder temps RM> than I do. Parry Sound is roughly the same distance North, AA>It's just the way the "vortex" is behaving this year. I would >expect your area to be somewhat moderated my the lake/bay >though. Somewhat, but by this late in the winter all the open water is frozen over for miles out, plus the coldest days would have wind coming from the North which would not pass over the water here. I was watching snowmobiles a ways out from my place on the main channel that big ships use this afternoon. It tends to freeze there last and 'least' so there's got to be a lot of ice for a long ways out. I'm currently sitting here listening to the wind howling through the trees. That's been happening a lot this winter and I don't remember it being that frequent in the past when I was staying here, but that could be a memory issue rather than a weather change.. B) The most exciting day here I remember happened in late November one year. I don't think it was snowing at the time but the wind was reported to have hit 165 kph (100 mph) and I seriously wondered if the building would still be standing the next day, being built at the top of a hill and up on pillars of variable height to level the place from a few inches in places to over 3 feet high, mostly at the front which was the direction the wind was coming from. --- * SLMR Rob * Heredity: If your parents had no kids, you won't either * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (1:2320/105) .
