Nowhere close.  Driving a taxi was a job you could support your family
on.  The number of cars on the road were regulated.  Every tom, dick and
moron can drive for uber.   You have the same 200 people wanting a ride,
and you have 350 ubers all wanting to transport the same 200 people.

I wasn't rich when I drove a cab, but I my bills were paid, I had
no debt and I had savings.  I'm still in transportation but another
field of it now, and most of our drivers have either worked an uber
or still do part time, all are broke.
