Me personally, I have nothing bad to say about Mint. I've booted it up multiple times, and it looks and works great.

BBS stuff? I thought you were done with that? Or are you just referring to your QWK packet stuff?

That's why the Linux mantra is "choice". If you like it, use it! I don't think I could ever run anything Red Hat related, but to each their own, of course - and that's probably because I'm just not used to it or it's package manager.

Completely understood. And with that said, have you tried Omarchy yet? :D

It's arch based, boots into Hyprland (which is the new craze these days, apparantly), and has it's own package manager.

I liked it quite a bit, except the fact that it was completely pre-made by someone else. So I wiped that VM, installed Archlinux via the archinstall script, which also installed Hyprland, and then installed these badass ml4w dotfiles from github:

It's pretty amazing, to say the least. Also has a GUI package manager that not only updates the dotfiles when needed, but runs pacman for you without the need to type it in a console. ;)
