Uh, yes...  the point of the messages was that an archive of some bbs things
would be useful to those of us who are still running one, even though others
think it is pointless because there are no users.  There was no implied
complaint on my part, or the part of the person I replied to, in regards to
running one.

I still don't see the mystery as to what was meant.
