 Back then, Twitter was your friends posting from a bar or on vacation.
 I don't think it was very algorithmic at the time, but just starting to
 see companies moving onto it.

 I remember a couple of people from the BBS scene starting identi.ca, an
 open source, federated microblog site, and feeling that it felt more
 like old twitter, where it was all friends and no companies.
