I hadn't noticed, but I don't go to the theater very often anymore..  Is that the liquid stuff they put on the popcorn?  I've seen butter flavored seasoning salt you can buy in grocery stores, but I'd have thought the liquid was melted butter or margarine or similar..

I think people like to have movie theater popcorn at home they can eat later. And at the prices they charge at the theater, I think people also want to feel like they're getting their money's worth.

I think the free refills is sort of funny. I wouldn't want to leave the auditorium during the movie (and miss part of the movie) to get a refill on my popcorn.  Maybe if there was an intermission though.
