people still do hard work.  look at roofers. look at the trades.
foundries are hard work.

people just don't want to work for the most part. that's why there's more 
jobs than people.   that illegals are taking our jobs thing is old hat.
go look up indeed and search for mfg jobs 30 bucks or better. there's tens of 
thousands in your area most likely.

in the end it gets sorted out.  the employer offers more money and training 
and they fill positions.
