Livejournal had a whole template system customizable with CSS. Made for a nice hybrid between a blog platform and a social network. I just logged onto LJ, still see some friends' posts. It saddens me to look back at LJ; two of my friends IRL and on LJ have passed away in the years since we hung out there. It was a simpler time, definitely. The Blog Era in the early 2000s was fun; I was living and working in San Francisco, LiveJournal had an office there, Wordpress and Moveable Type were there as well. The Tmobile Sidekick started a "moblog" trend, with people posting low-res photos from their "smart" phones. Blogger, too, I think - this was before they were bought by Google. Interesting times. --- þ Synchronet þ .: realitycheckbbs.org :: scientia potentia est :. .
