It makes me wish I registered a lot more shareware back in the 90s.

A year or two ago, I sent a letter to the author of Epoch Master - to the
address listed with the software for registration back when it was released
c. 1995. He replied, but had long since lost the source and ability to
create keyfiles :( Was cool to get a letter back though.
