To be precise,' courier' regular size 10. Ascii art is extremely sensitive to the font used. For eg:, many of my ascii art seems to be lacking in their beauty at my web page (http://www.serv.net/~kgeorge/ascii_1.html) which uses 'courier new' regular 10. In olden days, everybody had only one font in their vt100-s. But these days it is not true. Even in a MAC or a PC running windows95/NT the user interfaces are rich in fonts of different variety. This takes a jab at the universality of the ascii art, for whatever it stands for. -koshy george
