Hi folks,
  Is there a software program to convert a graphic image into a text map 
representation of the image using alphanumeric characters?. I remember  
in the early days of computing that images were produced this way on 
line printers using alphanumeric characters, but I'm not sure whether 
this was done using a program or by manual labour!
