In UNIX, use emacs, and type > ctrl-q, and then the key you want to be placed. For instance, for > escape codes, type ctrl-q ESC. Close. On a VT100, you might well be unable to use Ctrl-Q (or Ctrl-S) due to flow control. In that case, do a M-x enable-flow-control (or add the line (enable-flow-control) to your ~/.emacs file), which substitutes Ctrl-\ for Ctrl-S and Ctrl-^ for Ctrl-Q. This is new to Emacs 19 -- if you're on Emacs 18, holler for an upgrade. Oh yeah. For you emacs-less folks, vi has a similar thing with Ctrl-V instead of Ctrl-Q. ,adPPY ,adPPY ,adPPYba, a8" a8 a a8 a "8a Peter Samuelson 8b 8 d8 8 d8 d8 "8a, ,a8' ,a8' ,a8" `"YbbdP"' bbdP"' bbdP"'
