For one, it is usually smaller on nearly all machines (all riscs, for example) (especially if compiled with an inefficient compiler). Secondly, others can modify the source, fix it, add new features, etc. 2. Your binary wil _only_ work on Suns like yours. Other Unices, Dos, Mac, VMS, etc. (probably even some other Suns) will not run it. If anybody has the source for this, could they please post it.
