You don't actually need to byte-compile it, but it'll run faster if you do. M-x byte-compile-file to byte-compile it. M-x load-file to load it. (M-x means hold down the "meta" key and type "x". If you don't have a "meta" key, then you can type "ESC x" instead.) --
