This thread prompted me to configure this specifically for
alt.ascii-art in Gnus.  Thank you.

The *really* annoying thing with Gnus is that it highlights quotations
in different colours depending on the quotation depths by default.
This produced some *really* _interesting_ (read: annoying) colours in
the artwork.  Luckily I've figured out how to configure this behaviour
per-group.
