For those not educated in chess, the above piece represents the King (no,
not Elvis) on the Chess board.  If he is placed in check, then the game
is in jeopardy; if it cannot move and check cannot be broken, then the
game is lost.

Of course that won't mean much unless you know the rest of the rules, but
hey - I'm not a teacher  :O)
