I feel as though I'm missing something fundamental here. What is this
picture about? I assume it is supposed to express something; in my case
it expresses 'for(1..$j) { print " |" x $i, "\n"; }', but presumably this
is not intentional.

There is no depth information in this picture. Surely it's only a stereogram
of itself! The same effect can be achieved by moving your head closer or
further away from the screen.
