I know I was slow .. don't rub it in. Reading the archives for this newsgroup with google groups is a good way to start. We have discussed this subject before .. mostly between Markus Gebhard and others (me f.x) > Or someone could show me a good Converter. Markus Gerhard have programmed and developed JavE that draws , plots, 3D renders, converts, and edits ascii-art .. A sort of ascii-photoshop After many suggestions from us , and his own ideas and hard work , it have developed into a excellent convertor. It's still clear that humans draw better , but a good convertor is a great help. It gives you a form to work on, something that makes it easier for many people that can't visualize the final image when faced with a blank page. As such a tool it helps overcomes writers block. > I would like to see how it should look. Try running it through Jave4 .. but beware .. it have so many options that finding the best way to convert your image is an beginning to be an artform in itself :) It seems there are some ways that work really well for one type of image and crappy for other types. If the Metallica logo is a B/W graphic then try the felt pen , edge tracing and edge detection algorithms first .. they seems to work very well for that type of images. http://www.jave.de/
