SMOKE, DIP, CHAW

I could not help but watch them smoke,
Friends and neighbors, it was a joke!
They'd wheeze and cough, and sneeze and whiz,
It was their "right," both hers and his.

They'd huff and puff, and snort and blow,
And on the habit, they'd burn their dough;
They had to have a cigarette,
And on each one, their lives would bet.

But that was not the half of it,
They stinky smelled with each one lit!
And if smoking were not enough,
You should have seen them dipping snuff!

They'd spit into a filthy cup,
That looked like vomit just thrown up;
But then there were the cigars rolled,
Between stained teeth, they them would hold.

All that sucking and blowing, too,
Made me think of tobacco spew;
A plug they'd bite to get a chaw,
To spit the juice that filled their jaw.

Not emphysema or cancer,
Or any disease would hamper
Their addiction to satisfy
Their craving though from it they'll die. 

Now, when you watch, you must admit,
How stupid they look doing it;
Tobacco ashes, spit someday
Will fill coffins where their butts lay!
