Since the bucket is traveling in an arc, it is essentially "pulling" the water away from its straight path. The same thing happens to you when you take a fast turn in a car. You start off traveling in a straight line, but the car keeps on pulling you away from that straight path, hence the perception of being pulled toward one side. Brian "W.
