To cut a long story short:
  Please send me a note if you want to be a beta tester for my free
Ascii Art editor JavE. I will then tell you the download location and
send you a list of what's new. The beta test will only run for a few
days - depending on how many people volunteer.

System requirements:
  Java2 Runtime Environment (JRE1.2 or greater should work).

More detailes:
  I have not managed to add all the features I wanted to and also there
are thousands of things that still do not work they way they should (not
to mention things I have promised to fix months ago...). But I am going
to be very busy during the next weeks (finishing my master thesis) and
so I decided to release a new version now. I want to do this little beta
test before, in order to make sure that there are no severe bugs left.
BTW: The version number change from 4.0 to 5.0 is almost only justified
by the fact that the new version will no longer run on Java1.1 systems.

When there is positive response on the beta test I will release the
official 5.0 (codename JaVE ;-)) by the weekend.
