However, I don't yell at people, only Nerd Boy might be crazy enough to do that. The strip started out as a diddle. I wanted to draw someone with long hair, and after lots of goofy hairstyles, this was the one I came up with. Then it turned into a "Nerd Boy with attitude" strip; a continuation from NB233-236. <239> Here I wanted to point out the change in Nerd Boy's attitude. -It- turned into a Fan Boy joke, and there's a hidden little joke there for NIN fans who have all of the lyrics memorized. <240> Pretty straightforward. This was actually the end of NB239 originally IIRC, but it got too long and now it's its own strip. One joke spread a bit thin, if you ask me. <241> Feeling that the last few strips didn't have enough art, I decided to draw something a bit bigger. Originally, I was going to have Nerd Boy say "Don't even try, punk." Then the monster would become fixed in mid-air from fear. However, that would clearly be a big waste of a nice character, so I made a story arc out of it instead. Then I got tired of the whole thing and had a lot of other stuff to do, hence the two months or so of non-productivity. -- OO Joaquim Gndara .||. http://nerdboy.port5.com bb jg
