Not that amazing, I'd say. It's just a matter of being observant and
constantly exposed to English in one form or another; movies, TV shows,
books, the internet. It adds up.

Well, according to Babylon.com and Merriam-Webster, it's just a synonym for
"night table" or "bedside table"...
